Cheap Trick Revisits ‘Dream Police’

Dream Police was the band’s first studio effort following the major success of its Live at Budokan album. With Budokan dominating 1979 rock radio, many observers wondered if the band’s then-upcoming studio album would successfully follow the live set that became one of the biggest albums of the year. But those doubts vanished when Dream Police finally arrived in stores, forcing even the most jaded of critics to admit the band had delivered a damn good album.

Joining Cheap Trick in performing songs from the album along with other fan favorites will be The Rhythmic Noise Philharmonic Orchestra & Mind Choir.

“Dream Police was the first record where we felt the songs were well-suited for orchestration; that was a very expansive time for us musically,” bassist Tom Petersson said.

The shows take place at the 500-seat Northern Lights Casino at the Potawatomi Bingo Casino near Milwaukee Jan. 20-21, 28-29, Feb. 4-5, 11-12, 18-19 and 25-26. Tickets go on sale Dec. 10 and are priced at $85, $75 and $65. For more information, click here for Cheap Trick’s website.
