Wolf Parade On Hiatus
During the show at the Sound Academy singer/keyboardist Spencer Krug reportedly told the crowd that the performance was going to be the band’s last show for a long time.
According to WolfParade.Nonstuff.com, singer/guitarist Dan Boeckner contacted the fan site to say the band was taking an “indefinite hiatus.”
Robin Taylor of International Creative Management confirmed with Pollstar that the news was correct. She noted that the band has booked one yet-to-be-announced show for 2011.
“We’ve been going at it pretty hard for the last year, so it’s time to take a rest,” drummer Arlen Thompson told Spinner.com before the Toronto show.
“Arlen and I and Alexei [Perry] are actually getting together in January to make a new Handsome Furs record so it’s not like we won’t see each other,” Boeckner added. “I’m actually going on tour immediately after this; the Furs are going on tour in Eastern Europe right away.”
Wolf Parade released Expo 86, its third full-length album, earlier this year on Sub Pop.
