MTV has announced dates for its 2011 award shows.

The music network says the 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 9 p.m. EDT. The MTV Movie Awards, its in 20th year, is set to air live on Sunday, June 5 at 9 p.m. EDT.

The sixth annual mtvU Woodie Awards, in its first move outside of New York City, will air live on Wednesday, March 16 at 12 a.m EST from the Austin Music Hall in Austin, Texas.
