Video Diversion: Concerts In 60 Seconds
No matter, time-lapse anything can be a pleasant diversion, especially when you’re pretending to be hard at work earning that paycheck. Below are a few concerts you can experience in a blink of an eye.
Elton John at The Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg, South Africa, 2008.
3 Doors Down in Kearney, Nebraska, 2008. We love how the clip begins with a few people standing on the empty arena floor. It’s as if they’re the ones who will build the entire stage.
Rush at Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre, 2010. The band loads in, plays, loads out, but that magnificent Red Rocks view is eternal.
Zac Brown Band in Fort Wayne, Ind., at Parkview Field, 2010. What makes this time-lapse video even more interesting is that the concert was held at a baseball stadium. Notice that the sun rises before the crew finishes. Oh, and don’t blink otherwise you’ll miss Zac and the band.
The Flaming Lips in Ithaca, N.Y., 2010. No load in or out, just the actual concert in less than two minutes. Wayne Coyne sure can move fast in that bubble.
U2 at Glasgow’s Hampden Park, 2009. The rim of the stadium framing the rapid-moving cloud formations provides an almost psychedelic effect throughout the clip. Seeing the mighty Claw rise up from the ground is an added plus.
