Club Unleashes Pitbull
Miami rapper Pitbull is off the hook for showing up late and refusing to perform at a California nightclub in 2009. The El Potrero Night Club that sued the singer in December has agreed to drop its lawsuit.
El Potrero reportedly paid Pitbull $28,000 to headline a May, 2009 show but alleged that on the day of the scheduled performance he was unhappy with the sound equipment, got into an argument with staff and left the premises four hours before show time.
Club owners filed suit, claiming the rapper – whose real name is Christian Perez – kept the $28,000 and cost El Potrero $80,000 for the last-minute cancellation.

At the time of the dispute, a source close to situation told Pollstar there was no sound equipment at the club for soundcheck and, with fans waiting outside at 11 p.m., Pitbull had to cancel.
