Moogfest 2010 Expands Lineup

With Moogfest 2010 going down Halloween weekend it’s only fitting that tickets go on sale today, Friday the 13th. The festival has expanded its lineup to include Devo, Disco Biscuits and more.

Moogfest 2010 takes place Oct. 29-31 at various venues in Asheville, N.C., including the Asheville Civic Center (which houses both the 6,000-capacity Arena and the smaller 2,400-seat Thomas Wolfe Auditorium) and The 1,000-capcity Orange Peel.

The annual fest celebrates Robert Moog, the inventor of the Moog synthesizer. Asheville was Moog’s home for the last 30 years of his life and is also the headquarters of the company he founded in 1963, Moog Music.

Look out for Moogfest artists using the Minimoog Voyager, the Little Phatty, the Etherwave Theremin, Moogerfoogers, and the new Moog Guitar on stage.

Performers were chosen “for their role in creating unique and groundbreaking musical experiences that embody the essence of Bob Moog’s visionary and creative spirit.”

Along with Devo and Disco Biscuits, new additions to the lineup include Van Dyke Parks, Clare & The Reasons, Bonobo and Ikonika.
