Numan Brings More Pleasure & Principle To 2010

The year was 1980 and Numan was all over the radio as listeners couldn’t get enough of “Cars” or the album from which it came from, The Pleasure Principle. While previous recordings were released under the moniker “Tubeway Army,” Numan’s first effort released under his own name dropped in the U.K., in 1979 and didn’t hit America until one year later. Heralded as a new David Bowie, Numan brought electronic flash to music fans who had already grown weary of a music world heavily dominated by corporate rock and power ballads.

Four years since his last U.S. tour, Numan returns to the United States to embark on an outing commemorating the 30th anniversary of his first hit in America. The Pleasure Principle 2010 Tour begins Oct. 17 in Orlando at the Firestone, plays Atlanta at Masquerade Oct. 18 and rolls into Washington, D.C., for a gig at the Black Cat Oct. 20. Other stops include Philadelphia, Boston, Detroit, Denver, Chicago, San Francisco and one (so far) Canada show in Toronto.
