Swift’s 13 Hour Marathon

All artists do meet-and-greets, those publicity-oriented sessions where they’re posing for snapshots with fans, shaking the mayor’s hand and doing whatever is needed to assure everyone they’re regular down-to-earth folks. However, Taylor Swift might be pushing the envelope.

That’s because the 20-year-old country music empress is hosting a 13-hour meet-and-greet during this year’s CMA Music Festival. She even has a title for all that glad-handing, calling it, appropriately enough, “Taylor Swift’s 13-Hour Meet & Greet.”

But Ms. Swift won’t spend the entire 13 hours shaking hands. Scheduled for June 13 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, the event begins at 8:00 a.m. and includes a short acoustic set in the afternoon as well as several different fan activities. Of course, Swift will be meeting as many fans as possible at the free event.

“My favorite thing about CMA Music Fest has always been getting to spend time with the fans, so this year I wanted to figure out a way to meet as many of them as possible,” Swift said. “Thirteen is my lucky number and the 13th is during Music Fest, so I think spending 13 hours that day with my fans is going to be amazing.”

The 13-hour meet-up extravaganza marks Taylor’s only performance at this year’s CMA Music Fest. For additional details, click here for TaylorSwift.com.
