Trump Hires Michaels
The past few weeks haven’t been the best of times for Michaels. Starting with an emergency appendectomy in April followed by a brain hemorrhage, followed by a mini-stroke, the Poison frontman has spent a considerable amount of time on rock’s disabled list. But that didn’t stop him from impressing The Donald.
“You’ve done an amazing job in every single way,” Trump said before announcing the winner during a live segment on the NBC reality show. “A little flaky, but that’s OK. … You’ve also proven … to be very brave. I appreciate that.”
As the last person standing on the program, Michaels won $250,000 for charity.
The 47-year-old Michaels surpassed all odds to emerge victorious in the competition. Having undergone an emergency appendectomy in April, he found himself back in the hospital less than two weeks later because of a brain hemorrhage. Then, shortly after his release, he went back to the hospital after experiencing what doctors believe was a mini-stroke. He is now undergoing outpatient treatment.
Trump remarked about Michaels’ medical problems, asking him if he was risking his life by appearing on the show.
“Lately it seems like me just standing me up is risking my life,” Michaels answered, adding he “came to win.”
But there was no keeping Michaels down, although he said he wasn’t about to celebrate the victory in typical rock star fashion.
“You have no idea how bad I want to cut loose and party, and there’s about eight texts saying, ‘Do not drink, do not party,’” Michaels said.
“The fact that I won … and to just hangout with my friends, that’s a party enough.”
