Talking About Telluride Blues & Brews

After first performing at Telluride Blues & Brews Festival back in 2004, B.B. King and his trusty sidekick Lucille are returning to the event this September. The bluesman will headline along with ZZ Top.

The 17th annual festival takes place Sept. 17-20 at Town Park in Telluride, Colo.

The lineup also includes The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band, which was formed by Fleetwood as a tribute to the original Fleetwood Mac. Along with the drummer, the group also features former Fleetwood Mac singer/lead guitarist Rick Vito as well as Lenny Castellanos and Mark Johnstone.

Fans will be treated to sets by Allen Toussaint, Galactic, Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears, J.J. Grey & Mofro, Cedric Burnside & Lightnin’ Malcolm, Matt Schofield, Alberta Cross and Gospel Morning with The Otis Taylor Band featuring Chuck Campbell and the Sheryl Renee Choir.

The Dana Fuchs Band will also be there along with Ronnie Baker Brooks, Phil Wiggins & Corey Harris, Grady Champion, Terrance Simien & the Zydeco Experience, Sugar Thieves, The Bill Magee Blues Band, Little Al Thomas and The Deep Down Fools.

The complete lineup, including a special Saturday headliner, will be revealed Aug. 16.

Beer connoisseurs’ palates will be put to the test with the Grand Tasting Sept. 18. The event will feature more than 150 beers from over 50 microbreweries including everything from ales to lagers, nut browns to I.P.A.’s.

Tickets to the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival are on sale now. A three-day pass will set you back $160. Festival camping is available for $40 per person, valid for four nights starting Sept. 16. Single-day, Bal de Maison and After Hours Jam tickets go on sale July 1.
