Don’t let the “Bluesfest” tag fool you as the yearly event, schedule for July 6-11 & 13-18 at LeBreton Flats Park, regularly features top artists from all genres. Sure, there will be plenty of authentic blues musicians as well as blues-inspired acts, but you get also get a great cross section of the musical world, like former Supertramp member Roger Hodgson, Brit prog-rock band Renaissance, reggae masters The Aggrolites, rapper/actor Drake and indie band Metric.
As to the blusier acts, where does one start when faced with a monstrous list of artists? How about Derek Trucks & Susan Tedesch Band, Roy Rogers & The Delta River Kings, Tommy Castro, Too Slim & The Taildraggers, Robert Randolph & The Family Band and Marcia Ball & The Voice Of The Wetlands All Stars featuring Tab Benoit, Cyril Neville, Anders Osborne, Johnny Sansone, Waylon Thibodeaux and Big Chief Monk Boudreaux? And there’s more, lots more. You really do have to look at the complete listing to appreciate the festival’s lineup.
