Iron Maiden Dates!
Called “The Final Frontier” tour after the band’s upcoming album, the trek begins June 9 in Dallas at the Superpages.com Center. Other dates include the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion near Houston June 11; Denver at the Comfort Dental Amphitheatre June 14; San Bernardino at the San Manuel Amphitheatre June 19 and New York at Madison Square Garden July 12.
The tour will also carve a healthy chunk out of Canada by playing Vancouver June 24; Edmonton June 26; Saskatoon June 29; Winnipeg June 30; Toronto July 3 and Montreal July 7. Last stop on the North America run is Bristow, Va., at Jiffy Lube Live July 20. Dream Theater will not appear on the Winnipeg date.
“We’re still working on the set list for these summer shows, but this time it will cover the whole history of the band, and I can hint that we will be playing a taster from the new album,” Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson said.
“We already have the designs for the new Final Frontier stage show which we are building to bring out with us, so this summer tour will be a bit of a preview for the fans. It’s certainly looking very spectacular at this stage and with a brand new Eddie and an amazing light show.”
Dickinson’s mention of a “brand new Eddie” is, of course, a reference to the band’s mascot – Eddie The Head – that can be found on their album covers as well as at the shows.
Fed up with seeing their fans pay through their collective noses for scalped tickets, Iron Maiden is working with Live Nation to arrange for paperless ticketing whenever possible and are arranging pre-sales for fan club members to begin three days before onsale dates. General onsales for Canada begin March 13 and U.S. shows go up March 20. For more information, click here for the Iron Maiden Web site.
