Bon Jovi Launches Tour With Webcast
The band’s schedule currently shows dates in North America and Europe through the end of July. However, the band plans to spend two years on the road – 135 shows in 30 countries – so it’s only fitting that Jon and the boys do something special for the fans on the tour’s sold-out first night.
That something special is a webcast of the band’s first three songs when the tour launches tonight at Seattle’s KeyArena. Consider it a preview of sorts – a little something to tease the musical taste buds.
Three sites will stream the fun beginning at 8:30 Pacific Time tonight, including the band’s official Web home at BonJovi.com, Bon Jovi’s Facebook page and Ustream.com, which is the actual provider of tonight’s webcast.
Bon Jovi also has several promotions running in tandem with “The Circle Tour.” For example, fans can create their own video for “Superman Tonight,” the latest single from the band’s The Circle album using tools available at Animoto, which combines user-uploaded photos, videos or imported content through Facebook Connect. You upload the content and Animoto creates the finished vid, which can be shared over social networks. You’ll win a flip camcorder if your video is the most watched of the week and a signed Bon Jovi guitar if your entry is the most watched of all.
Other promotions include using Twitter to win concert tickets for one of the band’s three New Meadowlands Stadium gigs. There’s also a contest where you create a video of you and your friends performing Bon Jovi’s “Living On A Prayer” with prizes including tickets as well as seeing your video played during the show while the band plays the worldwide hit.
For more information on tonight’s webcast, as well as all the different promotions for Bon Jovi’s “The Circle Tour,” click here for the band’s Web site and here for their Facebook page.
