Rolling Stone = Good Eats
Under the helm of entrepreneurs Niall Donnelly and Joe Altounian, the first Rolling Stone restaurant is expected to open at the Hollywood & Highland complex in Los Angeles next year.
Touted as the first in a restaurant chain, the Rolling Stone will take up 10,000 square feet on two levels of the Hollywood complex. It is not expected to be a live venue, except for special events, nor is it expected to be a museum/eatery like Hard Rock Café.
“We won’t have Elvis costumes on the wall,” Donnelly told the Los Angeles Times. The food will be a mix of American fare, California cuisine and “Mexican-inspired stuff,” he said.
Donnelly has opened many successful bars and clubs in the U.K. and Ireland, including Anam Bar, Slim Jim’s, Liquor Store, the Woodbine, the Blue Note and Blackjack Liquor Shack. Altounian has invested 10 years into SoCal commercial and residential real estate.
The Rolling Stone venue will have an interior of “exposed black brick, tufted leather and an antique iron staircase,” the Times said. It was not clear at press time what businesses leased the commercial property that Rolling Stone will be using.
