Strait + McEntire = Tour

You’d be hard pressed to find a more dynamic pairing. George Strait – winner of the most CMA Awards in history – hits the road January 22 in Baltimore at the 1st Mariner Arena. And if that wasn’t enough to persuade country fans to pull out their credit cards, Reba McEntire will join in on the fun.

After the tour opener in Baltimore, the pair heads to Greensboro where they’ll play the Coliseum Jan. 23. Knoxville is next on the list, with a Jan. 29 show scheduled for the Thompson-Boling Arena. Last January stop is Charlottesville, Va., at the John Paul Jones Arena Jan. 30.

February stops include Phoenix, Las Vegas, Tulsa, Atlanta and Orlando, while March shows the tour playing Memphis, New Orleans, Little Rock, Portland, Ore., and Tacoma. Omaha and Kansas City are on the April leg as well as the last date on the itinerary – April 10 in Des Moines at the Wells Fargo Arena.

Strait’s latest album – Twang – debuted on top of the charts, the latest milestone in a 25-plus year career that includes the most No. 1 singles of any artist in history – 57 – and the most RIAA platinum certifications for country music albums and is third in all genres behind The Beatles and Elvis Presley.

Of course, McEntire is no slouch when it comes to accomplishments – 33 No. 1 singles, 15 American Music Awards, 12 Academy of Country Music Awards, 9 People’s Choice Awards, 7 Country Music Awards and 2 Grammys.
