Scheduled To Appear – 09/28
I was pretty sure overrated, self-absorbed host Megan Fox would cause fireworks, but it was newbie Not Ready for Primetime player Jenny Slate who dropped the f-bomb heard round the world.
The slip happened during a sketch called “Biker Chick Chat,” which featured, well, biker chicks. But where real biker chicks wouldn’t hesitate to drop the f-word, SNL substituted “freakin’” – most of the time. Halfway through the bit, Slate let one fly, which it was obvious she immediately regretted.
SNL producer Lorne Michaels has told several news outlets Slate isn’t in need of an updated resume because he understands it was just a mistake.
There’s been no word from the FCC about whether they’ll fine the show for the profanity, although it should be noted that it happened at around 12:40 a.m. EST, well after family viewing hours.
(Side note: Is it just me or is U2‘s Adam Clayton looking a lot like Pet Shop Boys’ Neil Tennant lately?)
Be sure to tune in this week for musical guest Lady Gaga. As Gaga showed us at the MTV Video Music awards, anything could happen.
