Sugarland Postpones Dates

You can cross a few more dates off Sugarland’s immediate schedule.

Last weekend the country band postponed dates in Los Angeles and San Francisco after singer Jennifer Nettles strained vocal cords and doctors told her to rest for a week.

According to the band’s label, Mercury Records, Nettles’ vocal cords situation is a result of “health problems” that have plagued the Sugarland frontwoman since January.

At first the band just postponed last weekend’s California shows hoping Nettles might be ready to return to the concert stage for the band’s July 23 gig in Sandy, Utah.

But medical science (and rest) can only do so much in a few days time, and Sugarland ended up postponing last night’s show as well as tonight’s appearance in Primm, Nev., and Saturday’s Phoenix stop. The Primm date has been rescheduled for Aug. 6, 2010. That should give Nettles plenty of time to rest.

There is no word on rescheduled dates for Utah or Phoenix.
