This is the second arrest for Doherty within the last seven days. On June 5 Doherty was arrested by Swiss police and charged with consuming heroin after a flight attendant reportedly found him collapsed on a flight from London to Geneva in a restroom next to a used syringe. Doherty paid a fine and was released.

Like the Swiss episode, Doherty was in Gloucester to perform, and was arrested after the concert when police allegedly spotted him driving erratically.

Considering Doherty’s drug-riddled past, a drunk driving arrest almost seems bush league for the man who has graced London’s better tabloids over the past few years. His drug-capades with Kate Moss attained a sort of legendary status and even threatened to overshadow Rolling Stone Keith Richards’ epic consumption tales during the 1970s.

Although the Gloucestershire Constabulary hasn’t officially identified Doherty as the man arrested Thursday morning, a police official, speaking on condition of anonymity in line with departmental policy, confirmed the perp was the Babyshambles frontman.

A 30-year-old woman was arrested with Doherty. Both are being questioned by police.
