Kylie Comes To America
Kylie will kick off her 6-city tour September 30 at the Fox Theater in Oakland, Calif. Other lucky destinations on the trek include Las Vegas (October 3), Los Angeles (October 4), Chicago (October 7), Toronto (October 9) and New York City (October 11).
Tickets go on sale the weekend of May 15, but American Express Cardmembers will have a chance to buy tickets beginning May 7. Members of Kylie.com’s mailing list will also receive an e-mail with info on presale tickets.
Over the course of her 20-year career, Kylie has sold more than 40 million albums, scored 50 hit singles – including North American chart toppers “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” “Love at First Sight,” and Grammy-winner “Come Into My World” – and picked up dozens of awards and an OBE from Queen Elizabeth.
The singer has also sold out eight world tours including last year’s KylieX2008 tour which traveled to 21 countries throughout Europe, South America, Dubai, Asia, New Zealand and Australia, generating an estimated $70,000,000 in ticket sales.
Now she’s finally setting her sights on North America.
“I’ve wanted to tour in America and Canada for years and know that fans have been waiting a long time for this,” Minogue said. “I’m thrilled that the opportunity has finally arrived.”
I am so there, but I’m curious about one thing.
Since Kylie normally travels with a production that rivals those of Madonna and Britney Spears, it’ll be interesting to see how she adapts that to fit the smaller venues she’s booked into for this tour.
