Something To Meditate On

Question: What do Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Donovan, Sheryl Crow, Eddie Vedder, Ben Harper, Moby, Bettye Lavette, Paul Horn and Jim James have in common? That is other, than booking agents, hit records and gofers to do their bidding? They’re all appearing for free tomorrow night at a concert to raise funds for teaching children transcendental meditation.

The concert, called and benefiting the David Lynch Foundation, takes place Saturday night, April 4 at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall.

Yes, that David Lynch, the director who gave the world Eraserhead, the first “Dune” movie, “Blue Velvet” and TV’s “Twin Peaks.”

Hmmm…. Come to think of it, Frank Booth – Dennis Hopper’s character in “Blue Velvet” – could have benefited from a little meditation.

Several participants of tomorrow night’s concert appeared at a press conference today along with Dr. Norman E. Rosenthal, CEO and medical director of Capital Clinical Research Associates. Rosenthal has been using transcendental meditation for treating war vets suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder.

Which is all well and good, but we just wanted to post the picture below showing David Lynch standing between Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.
