N.O.R.E. Has A Beef With Fatburger
N.O.R.E., 31, whose real name is Victor Santiago Jr. and who was formally known by the stage name Noreaga, was arrested early Feb. 22 following a fight with a customer inside a Fatburger restaurant in Miami.
Rap aficionados may recall that the late Notorious B.I.G. mentioned the fast-food chain in the song “Goin Back to Cali,” which is featured on the 1997 album Life After Death. Ice Cube also gave a shout out to his favorite burger joint in the 1993 single, “It Was A Good Day” from the album The Predator.
Not sure if N.O.R.E. is going to be rapping about his fond memories of Fatburger after last weekend. Police say the rapper yelled at another customer, ripped up a bouquet of flowers and threw a cup filled with a yellow liquid (lemonade?) at the customer.
The rapper then punched the man in the face and yelled, “Do you know who I am?” according to authorities.
N.O.R.E. was charged with misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct. He was released after being taken to the Miami-Dade county jail.
N.O.R.E. is set to drop in on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” along with Isis as special guests of the Canadian electro-house duo MSTRKRFT. The duo, which are known to friends and family as Jesse F. Keller and Al-P, plan on performing “Bounce,” the first single from Fist of God. The tune features N.O.R.E.
Fist of God, MSTRKRFT’s sophomore release features contributions from artists including N.O.R.E. and other such as Ghostface Killah, Thunderheist’s Isis, bay-area hip hop artist E-40, Freeway, Lil’ Mo and John Legend. The album is set for release March 17.
