Arrests Made For Bogus Madonna Tickets

Detectives arrested three men who were separately selling fake ducats with face values of $350 but worthless when scanned. About a dozen fakes were caught after being scanned at the door, according to the Press of Atlantic City.

Officers reportedly seized 26 tickets valued at $9,100. Each man was charged with attempted theft by deception, uttering a forged instrument, reselling tickets without a license and reselling tickets adjacent to a venue. They are being held at the Atlantic City Justice Facility on $20,000 bail each.

Boardwalk Hall GM Greg Tesone told the paper that police also keep an eye out for phony artist merchandise being sold at shows.

“We’ve seen the problem pop up lately with higher-ticket events,” Tesone said. “Boxing’s been a problem. And Madonna is a more expensive ticket. I guess the profit margins are higher for these guys.

“We’re thrilled to be able to catch these people. We’re going to continue to work with the police on this.”
