Placebo has joined a list of artists scheduled to play a first-ever concert at a historic, 12th-century temple in Cambodia.
MTV EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking), a project by MTV Europe Foundation, has partnered with the United States Agency for International Development to produce a concert at Angkor Wat in Cambodia Dec. 7.
Placebo joins Duncan Sheik, Australia’s Kate Miller-Heidke, The Click Five and Cambodian artists for the concert, which is expected to broadcast in the country and on MTV channels internationally.
Angkor Wat is the best-preserved temple at the UNESCO World Heritage-listed complex near Siem Reap, Cambodia, according to a statement.
The unique facility served as backdrop in scenes from the “Tomb Raider” movie starring Angelina Jolie. The concert will be the first-ever rock event at Angkor Wat.
