Party At The Piano
“I can’t wait to get to spend New Year’s Eve with 17,000 of my biggest fans. I can’t think of a better way to see in 2009,” Elton John said, according to his Web site, eltonjohn.com.
The Dec. 31 show will mark John’s final concert in his 2008 Red Piano European tour. Sir Elton has been performing his greatest hits with his Red Piano show in Las Vegas since 2004.
Tickets for the New Year’s Eve Party go on sale exclusively to O2 customers Nov. 17 and to the general public on Nov. 24.
A portion of the tickets will be set aside as “Rocket” fan club tickets, which are available for purchase to Rocket Club members. These tickets will be available after the O2 presale but before the public onsale. Check at eltonjohn.com for details as the site will publish more information about the onsale shortly.
In order to purchase tickets for the Rocket Club sale, the Web site recommends fans register at least 24 hours before the Rocket Club Ticket sale begins.
Tickets are available Nov. 24 from The O2 or by calling 0844 856 0202.
“I’ve seen the set list for New Year’s Eve and this is absolutely going to be one massive party,” said David Campbell, chief exec of AEG Europe, which owns and operates venue.
“The O2 is the world’s most popular music venue, and for New Year Eve we have always wanted the best celebration anywhere. What more could you ask for than Elton John to kick off 2009 in style. In difficult times this will be a night to remember.”
Elton John recently released his 3-disc deluxe “Red Piano” DVD, which includes hits such as “Candle in the Wind,” “Your Song,” “Rocket Man” and “Tiny Dancer.”
