Tis the season for “Jingle Bell Rock” a tour package consisting of Metric, Tokyo Police Club, The Dears, Sebastien Grainger and Mike Relm that’s cruising through Canada in December. New dates include Toronto on the 13th at Sound Academy, the 15th in Winnipeg at Burton Cummings Theatre, the 16th in Saskatoon at Prairieland Park, the 17th in Edmonton at Shaw Conference Centre, the 19th in Calgary at the MacEwan Conference And Event Centre and the 21st in Vancouver at Vogue Theatre.
Singer / songwriter Melissa Ferrick makes the final update deadline with new listings for December. Look for Ms. Ferrick playing the Evening Muse in Charlotte, North Carolina, on the 6th, Atlanta at the Five Spot on the 7th and come December 8 it’s Nashville at 3rd & Lindsley. The artist also adds a couple of 2009 dates – January 10 in Oswego, New York, at the McCrobie Building, and December 18 in Toronto at Slacks Restaurant & Bar.
And the Squirrel Nut Zippers also add new December dates to the ol’ routing sheet. New band stops include Brooklyn, New York, on the 5th at Southpaw Music & Entertainment, Ithaca, New York, on the 6th at State Theatre, Hartford, Connecticut, on the 7th at Webster Theatre and Londonderry, New Hampshire, on the 8th at Tupelo Music Hall. The band also slots Aspen, Colorado, for a show at the Belly Up Aspen on December 18, and Denver the next night for a gig at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom
During the day we also updated the schedules for Fountains Of Wayne, Leonard Cohen, Take That, Jars Of Clay, Eric Church, Leon Redbone, NOFX, Fleet Foxes, Chris Hillman & Herb Pedersen, Hal Ketchum, Simply Red, Trust Company, Dar Williams, Patti Austin, Lonestar, Particle, plus 3000 artists, 2,531bands, 300 guitarists, 75 pianists and one kazoo player from Kalamazoo who paid us 50 cents to mention him in this space.
