The news of the new tour – her first in eight years – came April 26, when Turner told U.S. TV’s “The Oprah Winfrey Show” that she’s been persuaded to get back on stage by actress Sophia Loren.

The U.S. leg of the tour is scheduled to begin October 1, a couple of months short of her 69th birthday, with the European leg beginning January 22-23 at Belgium’s Antwerp Sportpaleis.

Two shows are at Vienna Stadthalle February 7-8 and two at London’s O2 Arena March 3-4, followed by Holland’s Arnhem Arena March 21 and Manchester Evening News Arena March 30-31.

So far these are the only European shows announced, although further dates in Germany, France, Ireland and Switzerland will be announced shortly.

The eight-time Grammy Award winner’s last tour was Twenty Four Seven in 2000, which Pollstar figures indicated was the highest-grossing tour that year.

It attracted more than 3 million fans to 123 stadiums around the globe over the course of nine months.
