Dates, Dates & More Dates …
Let’s start with Smoking Popes. The rockers from Chicago filled in a few holes in their August calendar. Additions to the Pope’s schedule include August 10 (Kansas City), August 12 (Austin), August 14 (Phoenix) and August 19 (Seattle).
Currently based in Oakland, California, indie band Xiu Xiu will see the world through from the vantage point of nightclub stages come August. Stops include San Diego at The Casbah on August 15; Tucson at the Solar Culture Gallery on August 16; Lubbock at Tequila Jungle on August 19 and New York at the Bowery Ballroom on August 28.
While you were gone we tweaked the Tina Turner schedule. We are now listing Ms. Turner appearing in Vienna, Austria, on February 7 & 8, 2009; and Arnhem, Netherlands, on March 21, 2009.
And we wrapped up today by adding a few club dates for We Are Scientists. New gigs include August 1 in New York; August 3 in Columbus, Ohio, August 5 in Indianapolis and August 10 in Newport, Kentucky.
During the day we also updated the schedules for Dead Or Alive, The Klezmatics, The Roches, Of Montreal, Taylor Swift, Dennis DeYoung, George Jones, Chaka Khan, Rehab, Kid Rock, Martha Wainwright, Megadeth, Richie Havens, “High School Musical On Stage,” “Disney’s High School Musical: The Ice Tour”, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Filter, Motion City Soundtrack, KISS, Muse, Puddle Of Mudd, and more bands and artists than you’ll find anywhere else in the known universe.
