Look for music’s Dynamic Duo playing an arena near you once the tour kicks off on September 25 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Stops include Boise, Idaho (October 9), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (October 17), Moline, Illinois (October 25) and Baltimore, Maryland (November 22).

Reggae artist Beres Hammond slots new shows for the east coast and midwest. New dates include August 6 (Omaha, NE), August 8 (Columbus, OH), August 12 (Nantucket, MA), August 27 (Baltimore, MD), September 6 (White Plains, NY) and September 7 (Washington, DC).

Funny guy George Lopez adds dates for July through December. New listings include stops in Sacramento, CA (July 20), Vegas (August 1 & 2), Milwaukee (September 19), more Vegas (November 7 & 8) and a multi-night run capping wi th a New Year’s Eve performance at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in wonderful Los Angeles, California (December 19 – 21, 26 – 28 & 31).

And smooth jazz saxophonist Mindi Abair adds several California dates such as September 13 (Palmdale), September 25 (Sacramento), September 26 (Stockton) and September 27 (Fresno).

In 1973, The Pointer Sisters made their debut at the Troubador Club in Los Angeles.

In 1974, bass guitarist Bill Wyman became the first Rolling Stone to have a solo LP with the release of Monkey Grip.

In 1981, Sex Pistol John Lydon, who used to be known as Johnny Rotten, and his band Public Image Limited were booed and pelted by debris during a performance at a New York club. A dozen people were hurt during the 50-minute performance. The following night’s show was cancelled.

In 1986, Belinda Carlisle, who had just left the Go-Gos, made her Los Angeles debut as a solo artist.

In 1995, singer Scott Weiland of the grunge rock group Stone Temple Pilots was arrested in Pasadena, California for cocaine and heroin possession. Police pulled over Weiland’s car after he made a quick midnight stop at a motel. He was ordered to spend four to six months in a drug treatment centre, forcing cancellation of the group’s tour in the summer of 1996.
