We just posted new June through August dates for Los Lonely Boys. New gigs include June 14 in Monterey, CA, at Golden State Theatre; July 18 in Portland, OR, at Oregon Zoo Amphitheatre; July 27 in Tucson, AZ, at Anselmo Valencia Tori Amphitheatre and August 1 in Denver at Fillmore Auditorium.

The Hold Steady update today with three summer dates – June 28 (Philadelphia), June 29 (Brooklyn) and July 19 (Chicago).

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals play the Palace Theatre in Manchester, NH, on June 6; the Lebanon Opera House in Lebanon, NH, on June 7; and the Britt Pavilion in Jacksonville, OR, on September 7.

In 1967, Elvis Presley married Priscilla Beaulieu at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. The wedding cake alone cost 35-hundred dollars. Priscilla was the teenaged daughter of a U-S Army officer whom Elvis had met in Germany. She had lived at Presley’s Graceland Mansion since 1961, ostensibly under the supervision of Presley’s father and stepmother. On February 1st, 1968, their only child, Lisa Marie, was born. The couple separated in 1972 and Elvis filed for divorce the following year.

In 1969, Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash taped a special for ABC TV at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

In 1970, Elton John’s first North American album, a self-titled effort, was released. From it came the hit single “Your Song.”

In 1977, the Clash began their first British tour with a concert in London.

In 1989, police were called to a jewelry store in Simi Valley – just north of Los Angeles – after employees reported a suspicious person. He turned out to be Michael Jackson, who had donned a wig, fake moustache, false teeth and eyelashes to go shopping.
