The 24-city tour, which kicks off Gay & Lesbian Pride Month May 31 at Boston’s Bank of America Pavilion, is once again presented by Logo in partnership with the Human Rights Campaign in support of the newly created True Colors Fund of Stonewall Community Foundation.

Brink, due May 27, is Lauper’s largest output of new material since the 2001 EP Shine and follows 2003’s At Last, which featured her distinctive take on standards and pop classics, and 2005’s The Body Acoustic, an acoustic career retrospective that included a number of guest artists and two new tracks.

The disc marks a return to the dance floor for the singer, who co-wrote and co-produced its 12 tracks with top club producers including Dragonette, Kleerup, Basement Jaxx, Axwell and others, and features what she describes as “an edgy new sound” paired with the kind of thoughtful, introspective lyrics fans have come to expect.

“This is an album that can be experienced in two completely different ways,” Lauper said.”[It’s] a dance album that you can move to and enjoy on a surface level, but if you want more than that, there’s a lot to discover inside the lyrics… these songs get pretty deep.”
