Allman Brothers Band Postpones Shows
The Allman Brothers Band has postponed its annual run of 15 shows at New York City’s Beacon Theatre May 5-24, with rescheduled dates to be announced.
The band announced that while founding member Gregg Allman has successfully been treated for Hepatitis C, his recovery from unspecified side effects has taken longer than expected.
In addition to the traditional Beacon Theatre run, ABB’s appearance at the Wanee Festival in Live Oak, Fla., has been canceled.
Ticketholders for the Beacon shows are advised to hang on to their tickets, which will be honored at the rescheduled shows.
“I need to be at 110 percent to do the shows the way we do them,” Allman said in a statement. “I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the support and understanding my Brothers and our fans have given me.”
