The Closing Bell
Overnight Sensation …
Our overnight crew worked very hard on the following item so that you have something nice to read while laying in bed tonight thinking about all your relatives who got better presents than you:
Here & There …
Are all fee-based music download sites legal download sites? – Center For Democracy and Technology
Is iLike the next big thing in online music? CNBC
Co-owner of Station nightclub, scene of 2003 Rhode Island fire where 100 people died, up for parole – UPI
Eric Mingus and his father’s legacy – Village Voice
Duke Robillard plans on doing a lot of travelling in ’08 – The Providence Journal
Protesting the current state of protest music – The Australian / The New Republic
Dates, Dates & More Dates …
Rodney Carrington is one heckuva road monster, always travelling, always doing shows, always making people laugh. New dates for Rodney include January bookings in places like Madison, WI, Munie, IN, and Amarillo, TX, while February takes him to Little Rock, AR, Kennewick, WA, and Joliet, IL. We also new dates for March and May but you’ll have to look at the schedule.
Hilary Duff travels to South America in January; Will Bernard adds shows for NYC and Mexico City; Terri Clark adds Urbana, IL, and Albuquerque, NM; look for Randy Rogers Band in Baton Rouge, LA, in March and Manhattan, KS, in April and JJ Grey & Mofro play Chattanooga, TN, in Feb.
During the course of our day we also updated the schedules for B-Side Players, Blake Shelton, Brian Auger’s Oblivion Express, Apocalyptica, Chris Cagle, Carrie Newcomer, Coco Montoya, Clint Black, Curtis Salgado, DE/VISION, Glen Campbell, Harper, Jeff & Vida, Gretchen Wilson, Horrorpops, Jose Gonzalez, Joey DeFrancesco, Josh Gracin, Kelly Richey, Lyfe Jennings, Pat Travers, Rock Kandy, Ricky Gervais, Roger Hodgson, Saliva, The Charlie Daniels Band, The Commander Cody Band, The Oak Ridge Boys, Wynonna, The Waifs, plus more artists and bands than we thought we’d ever update the day after Christmas, what with most of our staff knocking down those community service hours and all.
And that wraps up the ol’ date-city-venue operation for today. Thank you for spending some of your quality Web time with us and we’ll look for your face eyeballing our page tomorrow. Happy trails!
