For this tour, Davis will draw from a wide variety of material, including the Korn catalog, the soundtrack for “The Queen of the Damned,” and select cover tunes. Many of the songs on the set list have never been performed live by the singer before.
The singer said the show is something he’s been itching to do.
“I have wanted to do this forever. Ever since I did “The Queen of the Damned” and more recently the “MTV Unplugged,” I have wanted to be able to play those songs live.
“It’s going to be acoustic, but still heavy and very intimate. It will totally blow people’s minds.”
In “The Queen of the Damned,” the vampire Lestat forms a rock band to flaunt the truth about vampires and their history in front of mortals.
Davis and producer Richard Gibbs wrote and recorded all the songs performed by Lestat’s band, but contractual obligations to Sony BMG prevented the singer’s vocals from appearing on the album.
Instead, Davis drafted other well-known singers including Wayne Static of Static-X, Disturbed‘s David Draiman, Linkin Park‘s Chester Bennington, Marilyn Manson and Orgy‘s Jay Gordon to perform the songs for the soundtrack CD.
