The band still has a handful of stops left on its U.S. schedule, including Emo’s in Austin (October 26-27), the Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago (October 31), Mr. Small’s Theatre in Pittsburgh (November 2) and the Hiro Ballroom in New York City (November 3).

The Furnaces’ overseas trek gets rolling November 6 at Stealth in Nottingham, U.K., and wraps up November 30 at Trix in Antwerp, Belgium.

Other cities on the itinerary include Koko in London (November 11), Le Nouveau Casino in Paris (November 15), Musicdrome in Milan, Italy (November 17), Lido in Berlin (November 22), Vega Musikkenshus in Copenhagen, Denmark (November 25), and Bitterzoet in Amsterdam, The Netherlands (November 29).

Tickets for many of the band’s U.K. and European dates are available through links in the tour section at www.thefieryfurnaces.com.

Widow City, The Fiery Furnaces’ sixth album, was released earlier this month on Thrill Jockey Records.

The band described the album, as well as the other musicians along on the tour, with tongues firmly planted in cheek in a recent post on its web site.

“Someone in some street said to someone standing to the side that [Widow City] was the band’s best album yet. You should therefore order quickly. It is available on compact disc and double gatefold vinyl.

“Someone else on some other street said to the same person mentioned above that the band never sounded better. It features Robert D’Amico sitting and playing a drum kit, Jason Loewenstein standing and playing his bass guitar, Eleanor Friedberger standing around singing, and Matthew Friedberger lounging there, playing four or five keyboards.

“You should therefore order your tickets quickly.”
