Illness Sidelines Lil
Now the singer, who has been on a grueling round the world jaunt the past two weeks, has been forced to cancel a handful of shows because of illness. Allen was diagnosed with sinusitis and strep throat by a doctor on Los Angeles and advised to take a couple of weeks off to avoid causing permanent damage to her voice.
The canceled shows are the Oya Festival in Oslo, Norway (August 10), the Way Out West Festival in Gothenburg, Sweden (August 11), the Surf Festival in Sagres, Portugal (August 15) and the Lowlands Festival in Dronten, The Netherlands (August 17).
On her MySpace page, Allen apologized to fans and posted a picture of the doctor’s note advising her to get some much needed rest. The singer said she hopes to be completely recovered in time for V Festival in the U.K. (August 18-19).
