The Summerlove 2007 tour kicks off June 2 at Kidstock 2007 in Beverly Hills, Calif., and will make stops around the country, including the Fillmore at Theatre for Living Arts in Philadelphia (July 14), the Central Park Summerstage in New York (July 15), Lollapalooza in Chicago’s Grant Park (August 3-4) and the Austin City Limits Music Festival (September 14-15).

The band will also continue their participation in the “House Of Kids” series at the House of Blues in Cleveland (August 5) and Dallas (September 16).

The Sippy Cups was formed by parents of preschoolers. Paul Godwin, aka Sippy Paul, told Pollstar there’s a neglected demographic: young parents who can’t get to the clubs in the nighttime but long for that experience again.

The Cups have a musical flair that also appeals to the adults in the audience. The band became an afternoon staple at San Francisco’s Rickshaw Stop, then Café Du Nord, often filling the latter to capacity on weekends.

Last December, the band played an afternoon at the Great American Music Hall, selling out two shows, and earlier this year they made an appearance at the South By South West Music Conference in Austin.
