Shaw, who is currently out with Robert Randolph & the Family Band, will also be making several appearances without Stone throughout the spring and summer.

Shaw’s shows on his own consist of a handful of festival gigs, including May 5 at the Beale Street Festival in Memphis and June 14 at Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tenn., and a pair of headlining appearances – May 8 at Stubb’s Bar-B-Que in Austin, Texas, and May 29 at Bunkers in Minneapolis.

The 26-year old Shaw grew up in a deeply religious Pentecostal family in Decatur, Ga. He started singing gospel music in church when he was five and later formed a group with his brothers.

He found his way to New York as a member of the cast of Tyler Perry’s “I Know I’ve Been Changed.” After the show closed, he joined the resident cast of the Motown Café, where he discovered the music of artists from the golden age of Rhythm & Blues.

After a couple of stints in groups singing standards,classic soul and doo-wop, Shaw paired up with Fabulous Soul Shakers’ guitarist Johnny Gale and seasoned session player Jimmy Bralower to record his debut album, This Is Ryan Shaw, which is due for release April 17.
