“It goes on and on and on and on and on. It gets better and better and better and better. It is more and more fun.” Pete Townshend said during the tour announcement press conference in London February 8. “But this chapter is over in July 2007 so if you want to catch the new Who at their most effective for 20 years, come and join us.”

One of the U.K. dates on the itinerary is the first ever Knowsley Hall Music Festival outside Liverpool, on June 23. It looks like The Who will be playing Glastonbury Festival on June 24.

The European leg of the tour follows a string of North American arena dates, which run through March 17.

The band has been performing songs from their new mini rock opera, ‘”Wire & Glass” and material from its latest studio album, Endless Wire, along with their greatest hits and rarities.

Townshend and Roger Daltrey will be joined on stage for the tour by longtime keyboardist John ‘Rabbit’ Bundrick, Pino Palladino on bass, Zak Starkey on drums and Simon Townshend on guitar and vocals.
