The band’s first adventure will take them through Iceland, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Spain and the U.K. from late September through late October.

From there, Minus the Bear will hop the pond and head over to play their first scheduled U.S. date in Cambridge, Mass., T.T. The Bear’s.

Chicago do-it-yourselfers The Detachment Kit are scheduled to support the band October 29-November 10.

Minus the Bear features ex-members from noteworthy bands of the Northwest including Botch, Kill Sadie and Sharks Keep Moving.

Some may label their music as math rock or emo, but the sarcastic bunch are basically a self-proclaimed party band. With songs titles ranging from “Just Kickin’ It Like a Wild Donkey” to “Monkey!!! Knife!!! Fight!!!,” that proclamation comes as no surprise.

The band’s newest 6-song EP, They Make Beer Commercials Like This, was released in mid-July to “captures the spark of the band’s live show.”
