Jurassic 5 Cross Pacific

Jurassic 5 are reportedly hard at work in the studio, as they prepare the follow-up to 2002’s Power In Numbers. However, they’re looking to take time out for some shows across the Pacific by the time late summer rolls around.

After two early June shows in Boulder, Colo., they’ll fly downunder, kicking off their Aussie tour July 24 in Sydney. The next day, they’ll play Byron Bay’s Splendour In The Grass Festival, which also features Franz Ferdinand, Dizzee Rascal, P.J. Harvey and more.

After dates in Perth and Melbourne, they’ll head to New Zealand for two shows. Then it’s off to Japan, where they’ll wrap in Tokyo August 8.

The group – which consists of rappers Chali 2na, Zaakir (Soup), Akil and Marc 7 and DJs Cut Chemist and Nu-Mark – last visited Australia in August 2003 for the traveling Livid festival.
