Múm On Board
For a small island with a population roughly equal to that of Corpus Christi, Texas, Iceland sure has a way of churning out internationally beloved musicians.
The country’s latest red-hot export, three-piece electronic pop outfit Múm, is coming to the U.S. this June and July. They’re hoping to live up to the title of their new album, Summer Make Good, with a string of dates beginning in Boston June 23 and wrapping with a two-night stand at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom July 25-26.
The band consists of Gunnar Örn Tynes, Örvar Þóreyjarson Smárason, and Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir. They released their first album, Yesterday Was Dramatic – Today Is OK, in 2000 when the members were still teenagers.
Kristín’s sister Gyða, a founding member, recently left the band to concentrate on college.
