Although the band’s association with indie/punk label Drive-Thru has led some to pigeonhole them as a punk act, Something Corporate’s sound is a lot closer to a sort of emo-influenced alt-rock. Frontman Andrew McMahon looks on the bright side.

“People who listen to radio songs tend to like our band because we write choruses with hooks, so we’ll always have a pop crowd,” he said. “But because of our association with Drive-Thru, maybe a kid who wouldn’t normally listen to a band like us might give it a shot and hear something they like.”

Something Corporate lost guitarist William Tell last month when he decided he wanted to pursue his own songwriting efforts. According to mtv.com, ex-River City High guitarist Bobby “Raw” Anderson is filling in.

Opening act Yellowcard has had its own lineup change as well: Former bassist Pete Mosley has returned to the fold after a two-year absence. Mosley played on the band’s major-label debut, Ocean Avenue, which was released on Capitol Records last summer.

Following their stint with Something Corporate, Yellowcard will hit the road with the Vans Warped Tour.
