Ozzfest A Go
Although Ozzy has expressed doubts as to whether he will be able to perform – due to his recent all-terrain vehicle accident – the tour’s namesake rocker has not changed his headlining plans for this summer.
Of special note is the Judas Priest/Halford reunion – the band has not toured with their founding singer since 1992.
The main stage will also feature Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde’s band Black Label Society, Norwegians Dimmu Borgir, and Superjoint Ritual, the new project of Pantera’s Phil Anselmo.
Despite being one of the festival’s biggest names, alt-metal psychos Slipknot are scheduled to play on the second stage so that they can have a mosh pit; pits are prohibited on the main stage. Hatebreed, Lamb Of God, Atreyu and more will also appear on stage two.
Dates run from July 10 in Hartford, Conn., to September 4, when West Palm Beach, Fla., hosts the grand finale.
