Switch Please
San Diego’s Switchfoot is stepping out this year with a North American tour. The Dove Award-winning quartet will be blessing the faithful in several major markets starting in February. Dates so far run through late March and span the northern and western regions of the U.S., but the band’s Web site indicates that the tour won’t stop before May.
Switchfoot was formed in the mid-’90s when brothers Jonathan and Tim Foreman got together with fellow surfer Chad Butler. They released two albums before adding keyboardist Jerome Fontamillas for their third effort in 2000.
In 2002, they snagged a spot on the soundtrack of “A Walk To Remember” – which starred big fan Mandy Moore – and soon found themselves with a major label deal. Their first album for Columbia/RED, The Beautiful Letdown, was released last spring.
