Hoobastank Get Intimate
Labelmates Die Trying and Letter Kills are opening up for Hoobastank on the run, which finds the three bands in venues across the States from August 20 through September 27, when they’ll wrap at the X96 Big Ass Show in Utah.
“We are so psyched to play our new songs for our fans in a small club atmosphere,” singer Doug Robb said. “There is nothing better than that intimate environment where we can hang out with our fans.”
The new songs Robb mentions are off the band’s forthcoming album. Set for release in November, the as-yet-untitled disc is a follow-up to Hoobastank’s hugely popular eponymous major label debut.
Aside from a couple one-offs, the band has been locked up in the studio, working on that new disc. It’s been their first real time off the road since 2001, when their album was released.
Hoobastank recently put their star power to good use when they gave a charity concert for a local school in their hometown. The benefit gig raised $19,000 for the new middle school, which is under construction in the cash-strapped state of California.
