Jaguares’ Instinct
The band released their fourth album, Primer Instinto, last year. It’s an acoustic-first for the band and a change that fans have embraced. The album was certified gold by the RIAA’s new “Los Primos de Oro y Platino” certification system, which recognizes albums that contain at least 50 percent Spanish language content.
Although their name may be new to many North American readers, Jaguares are anything but strangers to N.A. audiences. They’ve toured consistently on both sides of the U.S./Mexican border since forming in 1995.
Last year, Jaguares were paired with Morrissey for a handful of shows in what seemed an unlikely tour coupling. However, the fans must not have minded as, together, they packed the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim and fared nearly as well in other cities.
After that, Jaguares ventured out on their own, playing theatres in the States and arenas in Mexico.
