GNR Tour Officially Off
It was a tour that never got off on the right foot. Guns N’ Roses‘ long-awaited return to the stage is now officially off.
Tour promoter Clear Channel Entertainment issued a statement that read: “The remainder of the Guns N’ Roses concert dates promoted by Clear Channel Entertainment have been cancelled. Refunds will be available at point of purchase.”
No reason for the cancellation was given, although a look at the Web nets several theories ranging from poor ticket sales to band squabbles to Axl throwing a diva-style fit.
The tour was bookended by two no-shows from Axl Rose. The first show, scheduled for Vancouver, B.C., never happened – a decision that resulted in rioting from angry fans. What was to be the first of two Philadelphia gigs on December 6 met the same end – Axl failed to show up.
The outing was scheduled to run into January.
