Musiq & Cee-Lo Tag Team
The outing marks a first for both artists: Goodie Mob MC Cee-Lo is celebrating his first solo venture and Musiq is in the headlining seat for the first time.
Although he’s dropped the “Soulchild” from his name, don’t be fooled: Musiq is still all soul. His sophomore album, Juslisen (Just Listen), released May 7, has already popped a top single and is tipped to hit the Top 10.
Rolling Stone has already dubbed Juslisen as “an early candidate for R&B album of the year.”
Juslisen follows Musiq’s 2000 debut, Aijuswanaseing. The album propelled the soul singer to the top of the charts and helped him rake in the prizes for Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Awards in 2001, walking away with four honors.
Cee-Lo, however, is just now trying out his hand at some solo tunes. His Perfect Imperfections hit shelves at the end of April.
