Dave Matthews Band Springs A Plan
As is their custom, Dave Matthews Band is offering pre-sale tickets to members of their official fan association. Card-carrying members can log onto www.warehouse.davematthewsband.com and snag tickets before they’re made available to the general public.
Right now, the lottery for tix begins January 19 and ends on the 28th.
Matthews and his band – Carter Beauford, Stefan Lessard, LeRoi Moore and Boyd Tinsley – last toured April through August of 2001. Artists including Macy Gray, Widespread Panic, Afro Celt Sound System, Angelique Kidjo, and Soulive took turns opening for the band on the outing, which stopped in a number of major stadiums.
The tour earned the group the No. 4 slot on Pollstar’s Top 100 Tours of 2001, grossing more than $60 million for 51 shows.
This spring’s tour finds them playing smaller venues, providing a slightly more intimate atmosphere than last summer’s trek. The dates start out in arenas and move outside to amphitheatres as the outing heads south and the weather warms.
