Isley Brothers Stay Hip
Twenty-nine theatre concerts have been nailed down and more are on the way.
On November 26, the Brothers will tape a PBS fund-raising special called “Salute To the ‘60s & ‘70s.” The show marks the end of their American performances and they head over to Japan December 4 – 15.
During the family’s four-decade-long music career, they have delivered R&B classics including “Shout,” “This Old Heart Of Mine (Is Weak For You),” and “Twist And Shout.”
Their latest album, Eternal, takes a decidedly contemporary spin and features contributors Jill Scott, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, and Raphael Saadiq.
Crooner R. Kelly helped out the brothers with their recent hit “Contagious,” which he wrote and produced. The disc sold almost 500,000 copies in just three weeks.
In an effort to make fans of the younger crowd, Isley brother Ronald has taken on a sexy alter-ego character, Mr. Biggs, who takes center stage in the sexy “Contagious” video. The next video, “Move Your Body” will include plenty of flesh and enticing females.
